About Me:
I am a single mother of 3 girls ranging from ages 2-10 years old. I am in a relationship with a wonderful man. I started homeschooling last year this is my second year to teach my children and I really desire to do this until they graduate and Go to College. So I am thankful that God is opening the Doors to more homeschoolers to go to College and get degrees. In my prayer time the Lord really dealt with me about the school system and removing my children from it. when I was reminded in the word that we are in the World but we are not of it I knew then I wanted my Girls to have a great education and not be limited by the systems view of education. Each one of my girls have special talents and gifts and I love them for everything they do and accomplish. I started this network in hope that we find more families and friends to build relationships with, support and go on feild trips together.

I keep a blog here as well if you are interested please check it out!! http://mybrokenalabaster.blogspot.com/

THE STRONG BLACK WOMEN

THE STRONG BLACK WOMAN

While struggling with the reality of being a human instead of a myth, the strong black woman passed away. Medical sources say she died of natural causes, but those who knew her know she died from being silent when she should have been screaming, smiling when she should have been raging, from being sick and not wanting anyone to know because her pain might inconvenience them. She died from an overdose of other people clinging to her when she didn't even have energy for herself.

She died from loving men who didn't love themselves and could only offer her a crippled reflection. She died from raising children alone. She died from the lies her grandmother told her mother and her mother told her about life, men & racism. She died from being sexually abused as a child and having to take that truth everywhere she went every day of her life, exchanging the humiliation for guilt and back again.

She died from asphyxiation, from secrets she kept trying to burn away instead of allowing herself the kind of nervous breakdown she was
entitled to, but only white girls could afford. She died from being responsible, because she was the last rung on the ladder and there was no one under her she could dump on. The strong black woman is dead.

She died from being dragged down and sat upon by un-evolved women posing as sisters and friends. She died from tolerating Mr. Pitiful, just to have a man around the house. She died from sacrificing herself for everybody and everything when what she really wanted to do was be a singer, a dancer, or some magnificent other. She died from lies of omission because she didn't want to bring the black man down.

She died from myths that would not allow her to show weakness without being chastised by the lazy and hazy. She died from hiding her real feelings until they
became hard and bitter enough to invade her womb and breasts like angry tumors. She died from never being enough of what men wanted, or being too much for the men she wanted. She died from being too black and died again for not being black enough.

She died from being misinformed about her mind, her body & the extent of her royal capabilities. She died from knees pressed too close together because respect was never part of the foreplay that was being shoved at her. And sometimes when she refused to die, when she just refused to give in she was killed by the lethal images of blonde hair, blue eyes and flat butts, being rejected by the OJ.'s, the Quincy's, the Cuba's & the Kobe's.

Sometimes, she was stomped to death by racism & sexism, executed by hi-tech ignorance while she carried the family in her belly, the community on her head, and
the race on her back!

The strong black woman is dead! Or is she?

**I didn't write this but I felt this cause it sounded like me before I really was found by Christ. I am ALIVE and living, enjoying peace and wholeness in God

I know I'm not! Pass this on to all the strong black women that you love, respect, and admire! I just did.

I would....

I would rather wait on the Lord and be free then to be trapped in bondages trying,
Trying to make a love last that was never meant to be.
I guess sometimes I struggle being a mother of 3.
But God said that he is my supplier,
He has proven that to me.
But I cry out a thousand time and his answer,
..." I am the only husband you need."

I plead with loves symphony, but sad the tune still sounds the same
Starts out loving.... Then a clanging cymbal comes crashing in my way.
I'm thankful I didn't se… Continue

Facing My Goliath!!

Everyday these past few weeks has felt like I am facing a huge giant and I am trying to figure out how can I knock this one down. I know and realize that we all go through these seasons in our lives and different challenges that we don't neccessarily ask for, but they come. Whether it be a reslut of something that I asked for in the past or something the just came up. I have been going through.

I haven't been doing so well with blogging lately. So now I decided to at least try to once a week. I… Continue

The World Literally is our classroom :-)

I should have posted this yesterday but as usual, I got a little busy :-) It seemed like it was going to be a beautiful day. The skies were blue, there was a little sunshine beaming through the clouds until about noon. The children and I were preparing to go and run some errands before their rehersal for church. We were strolling through the apartment gathering what we needed to take care of what we needed to do. Faith (2) decides to start removing clothes while I go get more diapers to put in h… Continue

Busy Bee, Mother of 3 thats me!

I have been sick with the flu for over a week and it has been very challenging for me. I have 3 beautiful girls from ages 2-9. We kind of cut back on assignments this week and I tried my best to take a break the best way that I could. All in one day my 2 year old managed to bust her lip, fall from a chair and slip in the kitchen. Thank God that she didn't hurt herself in the process. The next day she cut her finger on a can in the trash, trying to get to a colorful peice of paper that might have… Continue

Hi Amber, thank you. Your girls are beautiful. So how do you do it? Homeschool as a single parent. I'm sure you always get that question. My sister would definitely be inspired as she would like to do the same.

Hey, Amber thank you so much for the warm welcome, you seem to be and very beautiful woman with a lovely family. "Busy Bee, Mother of Three" is something I can definately relate to. I'm so excited I've found women I can relate to, to encourage me through the difficult times and celebrate the good ones, as a single mother the road gets a little bumpy. I'm rather new to the homeschooling community, and would welcome ANY advise. I'm also looking forward to one day having a playdate or field trip, even though I'm a little far away I know it'll be well worth the trip. Again thank you so much for opening your heart to me and my daughters. God Bless
